CiviKos Platform with the support of the European Center for Non-Profit Law (ECNL), organized the next meeting with relevant stakeholders on NGOs access to financial services and its impact on the work of NGOs. This meeting brought together today representatives from the Central Bank of Kosovo, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the Banking Association, as well as the NGO community to exchange experiences regarding banking de-risking and finding solutions to facilitate NGOs’ access to banking services. The substantive part on behalf of the NGOs was covered by Mr. Dren Puka from the Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (#KCSF), presenting the impact of bank barriers on the work of civil society organizations in Kosovo, the need to improve the legal framework in Kosovo, and practices to facilitate NGOs’ access to banking services. The financial exclusion of NGOs is a global phenomenon and the denial of access to financial services for civil society affects a range of human rights.
