The closing conference of the project “Strengthening Personal Data Protection and Cybersecurity across all sectors in Kosovo” took place today, bringing together numerous representatives from civil society, public institutions, and the private sector to reflect on the achievements and direct impact of the project on the citizens of Kosovo.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Dardan Kryeziu, Director of Platforma CiviKos, presented the project’s results and highlighted its importance in strengthening security and raising citizens’ awareness through inter-institutional cooperation.
Ms. Karin Boven, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo, emphasized the importance of cooperation with civil society and supporting state institutions in the field of cybersecurity.
Ms. Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, Commissioner of the Information and Privacy Agency (IPA), stressed that this project has directly contributed to strengthening public institutions’ capacities and informing citizens about their rights in the field of personal data protection.
The conference concluded with the panel “Data Protection for a Society with a Secure Future”, where representatives from IPA, the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, and the Institute for Technology and Society shared practical and visionary perspectives on the challenges and future of privacy in the country.
The discussions took place in a spirit of cooperation, confirming that personal data protection is a shared responsibility in building a safer digital future for Kosovo.
